I'm looking for a creepy/ scary game to play. One that will make me go ! Please exclude all the MCF games as I've got them all. I also played part of Scratches which was very good until it crashed...multiple times .

Any suggestions would be appreciated !!

Did you download and apply the patch for Scratches when you played the game? There was a patch released for the game that addressed stability issues.

I would really like to find a scary game, but because it is a game they just aren't that scary!! Although if I could find a LFA game with a bit of scary in it.......that might work!

Campfire Legends: The Hookman makes me jump every time I play it. Great game, but not available here.

I just went and downloaded it. I see it will not save my progress which was all the way until Monday when I was supposed to attach the battery to the charger on the bicycle. I've been waiting to hear from the company I bought the game from. Guess it can't hurt to try. Thanks for the suggestion.

That one was a bit creepy but still not scary!! But I only got to play about an hour of that game and it crapped out on me!!

To answer your question, I thought the following games had their creepy moments:

Vampire Saga: Pandora's Box
Puppet Show: Mystery of Joyville
Nightfall Mysteries: Curse of the Opera
3 Cards to Midnight

There are several good LFAs that are scary/creepy. More recent ones include Scratches, Barrow Hill, Dracula: Origin, and The Lost Crown (my favorite!).

You might try Department 42, Mystery of the Nine. All kinds of supernatual stuff in it. It is just an IHOG but a pretty darn good one.

You are welcome about the patch suggestion. I played the game through without problems, but I did make sure that I had applied the patch first. Maybe it will help you, as it would be a shame if you were not able to finish it.

Also Dracula Origin, an adventure game, is great!

PuppetShow is awesome in every way. Many would recommend Nightfall: Curse of the Opera (I haven't gone past the demo yet). There is only one game that, though I didn't find it as immersive, actually made the hairs stand up on the back of my neck at one point: Haunted Mirrors.

all that cute gave me nightmares for a week.

I've played almost all the ones listed except the Dracula Files. I'll give it a try but it looks to be "cartoony" and I was hoping for something a little more realistic . One thing I liked about Scratches is it reminded me a little of the book, "The Haunting of Hill House" by Shirley Jackson. It's a psychological horror game not one with gore unless you count a gross looking skeleton in a coffin.

Unfortunately, The Lost Crown is a retail-box game and I don't believe it's available for download anywhere except for the developer's website. It's a wonderfully atmospheric game set in Cornwall, England involving ghosts, ghost-hunting equipment, and all sorts of neat things. It's also a very long game.

Dogmama, that opening cutscene in Scratches, where you are looking at the exterior of the house--I was convinced the developer had The Haunting of Hill House in mind, as I immediately thought of that while looking at it.

I loved both the book and the movie of The Haunting of Hill House.

I felt the same way, even after I started it, but the cartoony characters grow on you, and the story gets more interesting as you progress. Can't hurt to give it a try. I have a credit code earmarked just for the Dracula Files, for the graphics in the hidden object scenes are just beautiful.

If it's creepy you are looking for, have you tried Sleepy Hollow? I must say, this was quite a dark and eerie game. LOVED IT!! Excellent game all around!

Don't know if they have it here, but there are several by "The Adventure Company" that are creepy. I think the best of those is Dark Fall. Might be available on Amazon if not here.
