Gold shield?

I figured out the little green men, but later in the game along with the run faster icon at the bottom of the screen there is a gold shield. Must have missed what they said about it and there isn't a help file, so I don't know what it does.

By the end of the game, you should have a "run faster" icon (a bunch of legs), a "work faster" icon (a bunch of hammers), and a "time freeze" icon (a gold clock). Is the clock the one you mean? I've completed the whole game, but I don't see a gold shield, so maybe it's the clock? It kinda looks like a shield

YES! Thanks that's it! My old eyes did not see a clock just the round yellow thing.

No wonder I could not figure out what it was doing. I don't like timed games so tend to ignore the timers!

Haha! I need my computer glasses to play these games, especially ones with such tiny figures running around! Glad we sorted it out.
