Hi all--As a fellow friend of Randy, I wanted to let you know he has not been feeling well the last few days, so has not been on the forum. He thought it was possibly the flu at first. However, yesterday he was coughing up blood so he was taken to hospital by ambulance at 2:30 this morning (Canada time) and we're still waiting for test results to determine if it's something with his stomach, or heart, or what. Will keep you posted as I find out more. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers!

UPDATE: I just spoke to Randy's sister and she said Randy will be transferred from the ER to the Intensive Care Unit so they can monitor his breathing and heart. He has gall stones and they feel he has an infection in his gall bladder. Tomorrow, they will transfer him from St. Agast (sp?) hospital to his regular hospital St. Jerome's where they plan to try to insert a tube to drain the infection and he's hooked up to a bunch of IV's (presumably antibiotics and pain meds). Inserting the tube will not be easy because unlike most people, Randy's bellybutton is off-center to the right and he has hernias, so this is a concern.
His sister is livid because one of the nurses pulled her aside to tell her he's not out of the woods yet. His sister says when Randy tries to talk, there's no clarity in his eyes or his words--almost like he's had a TIA. I know this is all kind of rambly (if that's even a word) but she was naturally exhausted, upset, and fighting a migraine, so saying everything quickly and kind of willy-nilly. She also said the ironic thing is, St. Jerome's had called today to have Randy's knee surgery finally! Obviously, that will now have to be rescheduled.
I did ask her to let Randy know I posted here and that all his wonderful friends are sending thoughts, well wishes and prayers to both of them and she said that would make him happy.
She'll call me tomorrow with another update and I'll pass it along as soon as I hear.
