Matches

Can not find matches to light the lantern in the mill. Used matches to thaw the fountain outside the watchmakers store but haven't seen any since. Help

They should have stayed in your inventory from the fountain. Are they definitely not there if you scroll to either side of inventory?
Otherwise, I have no idea, sorry.
