Redirecting Zap or Boom to follow path

[Post New]by meme2222 on Aug 19, 17 8:39 PM
A lot of people are having trouble redirecting their avatar to follow path. I found a solution: See if this works for you.

First thing is that while playing any level it automatically has an arrow directing your avatar to the cage. This is only the shortest path. Most of the time it is ideal. As long as you are heading in that general direction the arrow adjusts according to which tokens you match. But if you see big boulders or other obstacles in the way you may prefer to go a different route altogether.

Without double clicking. Just DO NOT CLEAR THAT PATH. Start clearing the path you prefer. A blue current like water will start flowing beneath the background you clear with your matches. Do not worry if your avatar does not move immediately. This keeps them from going back and forth from cascades and you may be just trying to get some specific matches to fill your hammer up and it would be irritating having them keep moving back and forth. So just as long as there is no blockage between your desired path and the avatar the arrow will eventually change and your avatar will follow.

Only if you want them to go back where tiles have already been cleared to head in another direction you must double click. To do this:

To Move in straight path: Hover mouse over avatar to see what color token they are standing on. Double click a token that is not too far away that has same color. But remember the path must already be clear.

To change direction: to face up, down, or turn around double click any color token that is near one or two tokens near them. Sometimes it takes more than one try. If they are already going in that direction they might not move at all. Use the straight path move explained above.

Use these two combinations of moves to get your avatar to follow. Usually it is only needed to pick up an item they might of passed so have to travel back. Once you do this the white path arrow will disappear and your avatar is dependent on you to move it. After you get your item it may just stand there. Do not be concerned. Go back to your path and continue to clear path to cage. Arrow should automatically re appear after reaching cage. Just make sure current is flowing uninterrupted between the cage and your avatar.

If you have a second item to pick up just guide your avatar using the above two moves.

I just found out you can also change direction of path arrow. If your avatar gets to cage but doesn't have key you can double click key until new path arrow is formed between avatar and key so they can go fetch on their own without guidance. Of course path must be clear.

You can also double click LOCK of cage to get your avatar to follow path to cage. This can create an arrow path if your avatar just stands idle somewhere with no arrow path.
