I have decided it's not summer camp - it is definitely BOOT camp. To build the archery range at 30 you need 380k bricks, 320k hats, and 200k pinks. You have to get the mb level at 29 and I barely got through the intern so I don't think I will be bothering much more in this morass

For the camp fire you need 450k bricks, 450k hats, 420k pinks. That's not doable without spending on helping hands. Even though I've accumulated a fair few coins, I won't use them on an event city. Actually this is the first event I've had to abandon unfinished. Back to waiting for Lima!

I must have lucked out on 29. Even master level only took me about three tries.

I have built the monument at level 30. I didn't buy any HH cards, and the only boost I used was one eternal freeze. I did get all of the ten item quests, and played all the side paths.

Jefran, I don't get the point of not spending on hh. I just built the archery range and needed more bricks. So: play or buy... I calculated 39 apprentice levels = 390 coins, 15 arch. = 450 coins and 3 mb = 180, totals 1020 coins gained in this city. I used a lightning and extra time on 27 and a couple of shovels, so net profit appr. 750 coins. Frugal people will play, but for those in a hurry why not buy for 100 or 150 coins, it goes a lot faster and in my case I am still making a handsome profit. I realize I will have to play for the resources for the final monument, but then that might make it worthwhile to finish 100% and enjoy the usual ample rewards.

May be these event cities are not that attractive to those players that like to ship. I don't, unfortunately it is unavoidable to a certain extent after Amsterdam. For me the attraction of the event cities is the limited number of levels, the lack of marts and port and the really generous rewards. This is where I made most of my money!

Trav3lbird, if I were you, I wouldn't give up on doing the architect and MB level of 29, sometimes its surprising how much easier the supposedly harder levels are to get through. I haven't got quite that far yet though in Summer camp as have been too busy doing other things the last couple of days. I have often been surprised at some hard intern levels that then just work easily the second and third time around. Maybe this one is a dreadful one though, but worth giving it a shot anyway.

With a lot of help from replaying level 22, I have built all the monuments in Summer Camp. I have interns done, and a lot of the architects, but I don't want to replay the timed levels so I'm not going for completion. Now I get to grind Boston level 60 since it gives me something to do while waiting for a new city and I need more bricks for the last Boston monument.

I'm with you Lordkalvan, got the interns, built the monuments but not bothering any further, those timed levels are horrendous! And a few of the other levels are very difficult so I will go back to tidying up a few other cities while I wait for Lima. I wonder whe Everest will come back again? There has been no word on what they are doing to fix that problem so people get their mone and resources back

I have a suggestion to put out there, for anyone who may like this idea. I meandered around summer camp and ended up finishing all levels a few days ago, and as I didn't have enough resources to build the final monument, and didn't want to spend heaps of coins on the HHs, I worked over many levels to get them, then, once that was done, I of course went ahead and built the final monument (campfire).

It dawned on me, that I had wasted the timing of building that campfire, from the point of view that as I wasn't in any specific hurry to do it, I should have waited till I had been playing in another city and had got to the point of having lost all my 5 lives, wanting to play more, and THEN, I could have gone to summer camp and built that final monument, BECAUSE, part of the reward package is to REFILL ALL LIVES. HELLO! silly me. I was at 5 lives anyway when I built it, so I could easily have used that as a refill when NEEDED, not at a time when not needed. How does that sound for a good strategy to help out with extra lives????????????? This has occurred to me before, but I keep forgetting to wait till I need the lives, and I have a habit of leaving the current city open to continue to ship to whilst there is no further city to open up and all I am doing is killing time pottering around anyway, there is NO HURRY to close off a city.

So in future, I shall remember to get it ready to build the final monument, but only do it WHEN I AM IN NEED OF MORE LIVES DESPERATELY (like a time when I am doing the daily event and have used them all up and want to go on) and still before the next city opens up.

Hope that all makes sense???????????? Sounds like a plan that could actually be of use to some of you out there. Let me know if any of you think this idea is good or not.

Jules, That is a good strategy. I realized the same thing recently and have found that it makes me play more aggressively and there have been times when it takes a long time to burn all my lives. Thanks for sharing.

The 'lives recharge' hadn't occurred to me either.

Yes niphouston, it can sometimes take a long time to burn through the lives and not have to refill them. I bought the life lifter back when I was in Venice or thereabouts, never bothered before then, but its been terrific, but even before that, I could get hours out of this game at one time. I remember one VERY lazy morning I slept in, (not actually sleeping of course, but playing GD), I eventually lost all my lives after more than FIVE hours of playing, that is, without having to go and play a different game whilst waiting for a lost life to regenerate. Of course, I did lose some lives during that time, but the others lasted me through the 'regeneration' time and they kept me afloat all those hours. It was almost like having unlimited lives. It does certainly help that you can back out of levels and only go ahead when the board is good, thats the best strategy of all for GD in my opinion. But there are times when I lose them all quickly too, but not often. NO other game lasts as long as this one does, most other games last about 5 minutes before all lives are lost and I am done with playing and off I go to do something else. I guess this is part of the reason I love this game more than any other because it keeps me involved so much more than any other.

GD has certainly retained my interest far longer than any similar game of the same type i.e Connect 3. For me, it is the variety of levels and the different strategies required to get through them. With the exception of the timed levels which I don't enjoy at all, the vast majority can be completed without using much in the way of resources.

I've given up on other games in the past because all levels seem so 'samey' or levels only seem to be achievable by pure luck.

Hey folks, got a little question, at summer camp is there any more timed levels besides 27? I've completed all three tiers through 26 so that's 3,200 coins less the 500 I spent on extra moves and shovels. I'll use an eternal freeze if there aren't any more.

Yes, there are more. 33 and 33-2, alhough you don't technically HAVE to do 33-2, but if you want to complete all interns for the coins and boost, then you will need to do that one. I can't remember what the requirement was for 33 at intern, but at architect, its got 50 seconds and requires tiles cleared and 240,000 points to get through, it was a bit nasty but doable as long as you get good moves on opening, which is possible, you might only need a touch of extra time on that one, not necessarily the cost of an eternal freeze, but if you have bought them in bulk, you can choose to use one if you find it too hard. thats a personal choice though. as for 33-2, at architect, it is 1:25 seconds, requires 120,000 points and clear tiles to get through. It is doable, again, with a good board to start off with to make good matches. If you want more info, let me know.

I have now finished intern level on all current cities! Since I hate timed levels I seriously doubt I will try to get architect on more than the one city I already did that for.

I don't have all the HH levels won. I do not have all the ten item quests either.

Wonder how long it will be before the next city is released. Trouble is that even trying to go slowly and not use boosts unless it is a timed level, I finished Boston (intern) in about ten days and Summer Camp even faster.

Lordkaven, it looks as if we have similar amounts of time on our hands. I generally find it takes a week or less to complete enough of a city to be able to move on to the next one. I don't like the timed levels either, and some of them now seem to have ridiculously short time limits too which make them even more annoying.

I do still have plenty of cities to access before being the position of waiting for the next to release.

Weird....For the first time, the daily challenge sent me to a city which I have 100% complete, namely Tokyo. So I can win the daily prize, but no additional coins. Has this happened to anyone else?

Hi snowmanvt,

I have completed all tiers of Sydney, Tokyo and San Francisco and my daily event has appeared in any one of those three cities. It has happened a few times.

There have been lots of times for me that the daily event used levels that I had already completed. Therefore, no additional coins. I have not, however completed any city 100%. I commented you folks who have done that!
