Where is the flat pattern paper to make the crane??

On this level, you don't need to make a crane. You need to make rubber gloves.

Thanks Julesyhedgehog. I think I'm confused because the icon for the crane shows up. Do those just appear throughout the game? Appreciate knowing. I was driving myself crazy looking for the darn paper. Now I can move on!

Yes, all the items that you've discovered how to make after speaking with the character will remain on the right hand side. It can be confusing and you can inadvertently make the item by mistaken, wasting your resources. If you hover your mouse over the buildings, it will let you know what item needs to be made in order to build.
