After I collect the money my screen gets dark and I have to back out of the scene I am in and go elsewhere in order to get it light again. Anyone else having this trouble? Help!

I just bought this game and I can't get a full screen. I tried the options and clicked on full screen but it didn't help. I played the trial version months ago and it was fine. Can anyonne help?
