Please do not buy it until then.
I assume those of you who did will be able to download from your purchase history when it does launch, but this is not "official" and worse case may require you to contact customer support.

Again, I am 90% certain you will be fine if you have pre-purchased it before the release, but I would advise waiting until it is released.

P.s. Like the rest of the page, the 973kb was simply placeholder while we tested the page.

There's a page for all the games considers Kids Games:

http://www.bigfishgames.com/download-games/genres/26/kids.html

but it doesn't specify ages. You could do demos and judge from that.

Rose427 wrote:Tomorrow we are suppose to have awful weather so I guess I will be playing Dire Grove through the Dire weather Although I am sure it will not be as Dire as the weather in the game, well I hope not or I will not be able to download the game!

I am a person *highly* suggestible and it is super easy for me to "immerse" in well crafted media - in other words my hubby laughs when I'm watching Deadliest Catch and have to put on a wrap and turn on my space heater. Just watching the *video* for Dire Grove had me shivering both with spooky and cold! I'm gonna need cocoa, my slippers, my electric throw and my fleece hat!

I like the flavor of ginger but agree on the fresh stuff. I once ate an amaaaazing home cooked meal prepared by some people from China and it was all incredibly delicious but in one bite I got a BIG sliver of ginger, probably about an inch by .5 inch and it was all I could do not to spit it out. Politeness prevailed and I managed to swallow but *shudder*.

MsFreddie wrote:I thought this games was going to be around 600 megabytes and therefor available on back up CD. When I go to buy the game it says it's 943.78 kb (?) and it looks like it's too big for a backup CD. Can someone please confirm the situation cos I would love to have it on CD as well.

That page isn't the real page, it's a place holder. Picman posted and the hardrive space required is 600MB. Often download files are smaller than the required hard drive sopace because files "unpack" when installed. But at the most it will be 600.

I play some game every single day, usually for several hours. Often this is World of Warcraft but I always stop by here after midnight to see, and usually at least try, the TGT. If I like it I often play it through after that. I am a woman of leisure and it is my primary source of entertainment.

THIS IS NOT RIGHT Picman just posted the real numbers:

Note: The game may run on lower spec systems but there is the chance of poor performance during video and high motion sequences.

So clearly the nearly a gig on the page is not right. Whew! Big, but not as, I can't be patient while it loads. Of course traffic at midnight will be insane no doubt. Oooooh, I love these launch nights!

Very very simple here. We are just hubby and I and have pared it down to what we love best and as much pre-made as poss. - Turkey, Mashed Potatoes, Gravy, cranberry Sauce (I like the can shaped kind, sue me ) Pepperidge Farms Dressing, Pumpkin Pie from Bakery with Redi-whip. What can I say, we're lazy. We do slow roast the Turkey ourselves, basting every 20 minutes and it's always perfect and I make (according to hubby) the best gravy in the world. We are making real 'tatoes this year, we normally do instant.

Can we get a confirm or deny on the size? At nearly a gig this will take a pretty long time to download and I may need to put myself in stasis to survive the anticipation...

It doesn't effect me at all. I purchase what I purchase. Sure, the coupons are nice, but this sort of promo will never make me buy more because I buy what I like anyway and luckily have budgeted so I never have to decide if I can afford a good game. It's a happy perc to get some games for free, but it change anything in Poodleland.

Imdamamma wrote:As for Margaret Sanger, Just what Ive read in her biography gives me mixed emotion. she helped start the information clinics which turned into abortion clinics. She promulgated abortion on demand or convenience. I wonder how many babies were killed because of her?

First off to promulgate means to make known by public declaration, announce officially or too put into effect by law and by formal public announcement. She didn't promulgate anything.

As to her supporting abortion I'd offer these quotes. She never considered abortion a viable contraceptive technique and never supported it as a "convenience" -

Sanger wrote, "While there are cases where even the law recognizes an abortion as justifiable if recommended by a physician, I assert that the hundreds of thousands of abortions performed in America each year are a disgrace to civilization."

"To each group we explained what contraception was; that abortion was the wrong way—no matter how early it was performed it was taking life; that contraception was the better way, the safer way—it took a little time, a little trouble, but was well worth while in the long run, because life had not yet begun."

Considering the fact that she was spurred into action as far as bringing birth control to the US after attending as a nurse to a women after botched attempts at aborting her own fetus, the 2nd of which killed her, and one of her main aims in doing so was to stop unnecessary abortions for unwanted pregnancies, I dare say she kept many fetuses from being aborted. Not to mention unwanted babies being born to families who could not care for them or did not want them.

As to making it the choice of the women involved, yes, that she fiercely defended in that she defended the sovereign right to a women over her own body in all matters. Like I said, I admire her greatly for fighting for women's rights in the face of great ignorance.

For me is the clear winner in several aspects. I was originally a RA member a million years ago but found the software to be subpar (the loading process every time I opened the game manager took forever) though this may well have changed recently. Another thing that really bugged me about RA was in order to cancel membership you had to call and go thru a telephone gaunlet, no on-line cancelling, but that's all moot as RA is no more.

I maintain a GH account for the few games doesn't get that I want. Most notably Mortimer Becket and recently The Hookman. I do not play TM games or arcade type games and it is very very rare that what I want is not offered here. Also the customer support at GH, at least in my experience, is carp (purposeful misppelling of a word indicating not good you'll see often in "the pond" ) Recently I had a question about my remaining Game Tickets. I had several go arounds with people who seemed to know less about the website then I did, and while I finally got the answer it was a painful process. Not to mention pretty darn sure their CS is off-shore and a big plus for me re: is their CS is local, right here in Seattle in fact. I like to support that. Not to mention, though it can be a tad slow to get the first response, the people are great, very knowledgeable, and super pleasant. Add to all that the GH website doesn't work terribly well, is a bit convoluted to find things, I often have issues with downloads (NEVER have problems downloading games) and their forums? Besides being weird to find they are... well nothing like here. Granted I suspect they are new.

So no contest in my mind between the 2. I will always keep a few game tickets on hand for the odd game doesn't get, but my Membership is happily here.

If it is a maneuver to compete with Dire Grove that's a bit foolish. As much as I loved the first 2 Mortimer Becketts and believe them to be truly quality games they are nowhere near RTR in depth and quality imo, and Dire Grove promises to be up to RTR standards from what I've seen. I am glad for those who don't wish to buy the Dire Grove CE that MB will be available at the same time.
