A Mac version of the game will eventually be made available. However, it may take a few weeks until it is completed. The development team is currently hard at work on the free demo version of the game and polishing up the regular PC version of the game. These will be out withing 2-4 weeks. Once those are finished, they will begin their work on the Mac version of the game.

I am sorry tink11513, but currently there isn't a printable walkthrough available. I do understand why you want a walkthrough on your desk beside you while you play the game. There are a more than a few tough puzzles in the game.

I can tell you that we have tried to make it as easy as possible to reach the strategy guide directly inside the game. It's also worth noting that the strategy guide picks up right where you left off in the game when you're playing. That makes it a little easier too.

Thanks for coming to the forums and posting your question!

Hi Kaylla00079,

You can install the games you purchase from us on as many computers as you need and not pay anything extra for it. If it doesn't work on your computer, just sign into your account on your boyfriends computer and download the game on to his computer from your purchase history.

I would also like to add that if you purchase the game and have any problems at all, you can contact our friendly Support Staff and they will do everything they can to get the game running for you. If that doesn't work, our Support Folks will give you 100% refund.

I hope this helps!

Hi Kin,

Hi Heron,

I would recommend checking out these articles for help with your issue:

Frequent Crashing of Game
Game Compatibility

If they do not solve the problem, then I would uninstall and reinstall the game. If you are still having issues with the game, I would recommend contacting our support team. They can be reached by clicking on the green envelope on the right side of the page.

Hi Heron,

I'm sorry to hear that you are having trouble with the game. Most technical problems with our games are resolved through our Help pages. Here are a few suggested articles that have helped many people with similar problems to yours in the past:

Frequent Crashing of Game
Game Compatibility

Since we already have a discussion thread dedicated to technical issues in this forum, I'm going to go ahead and lock this thread. We want to keep things nice and tidy in our forums so that it makes it easy for folks to find the answers they are looking for!

Hi Michael,

I can guarantee that the creation of the Mac version of this game will not take as long as Return to Ravenhearst. The development team is currently hard at work on creating the free demo version of Dire Grove and putting the final touches on the regular PC version of the game. The regular PC version will be out within 2 to 4 weeks. After that, they will begin their work on the Mac version.

The Mac conversion is going to be much easier to create than it was for Return to Ravenhearst. However, it still requires some extra development work and testing. For the Mac version Return to Ravenhearst, we tried our best to post frequent updates in the forum. We will be sure to do the same here as well.

Thanks for coming to the forums and posting your comments!

Hi Nichole822008,

I'm very sorry you are having trouble purchasing the game. It's possible that it may take up to 24 hours for the update to your billing information to work it's way through our system. I would check again tomorrow and if you are still not able to buy Dire Grove, contact our Support Team immediately.

Once again, I'm sorry for the trouble and I hope that this will get itself fixed soon!

Hi Kaylla00079,

That's a good idea but, I'm not 100% sure that would give the results we need. If you aren't sure if what your system specs are, here's some information on how to check:

Windows XP
1. Open the Start menu.
2. Right-click on My Computer and select Properties.
3. From the General tab, you can see your computer's system specifications.

Windows 7 and Windows Vista
1. Open the Start menu and click Computer.
2. Select the System Properties tab at the top of the window to view basic information about your computer.

Your system information will be listed in the window.

I hope this helps!

Hi AnnBy,

Here is a list of everything the Collector's Edition does have that wont be included in the regular version of the game:

Additional gameplay, levels and puzzles. This bonus game play reveals secrets about the Mystery Case Files series, but is not directly related to the mystery of Dire Grove.
An integrated strategy guide to get you through any part of the game. This is optional and not intrusive, so if you love the challenge you will not even know it is there, but if you get stuck it is there if you need it.
A badges and achievements system to add more replay value. By playing the game, you will earn achievements for completing tasks like “Found all 50 morphing objects”, “Completed the game without using a hint” or “Found secret bonus level 1”, etc.
Behind the scenes media. This includes concept art, additional video footage, desktop wallpapers, music and a screensaver all based on Dire Grove.

We've also got a great Collector’s Edition Frequently Asked Questions thread that might help as well! Happy Gaming!

I'm going to go ahead and lock this thread. Too many times these threads become places where anything goes and it gets difficult to find answers you are looking for. We have some great threads set up for all of your question and comments, so please use them instead:

Mystery Case Files®: Dire Grove™ Collector's Edition comments and reviews

Mystery Case Files: Dire Grove CE Technical Issues

Chapter 1 help and discussion (there are more chapter threads like this one available as well.)

Happy gaming everyone!

One of the great things about the Collector's Edition are the achievements you can earn in the game. One these achievements are spotting all of the morphing items. These are items that will subtly change over time, these can be a street sign or a doorknob. They occur in the non-hidden object scenes and they are scattered throughout the game. Just keep an eye out and you'll spot one sooner or later. I promise!

rkonantz wrote:I'm playing Dire Grove on my Netbook, and it's running fine EXCEPT that the screen is cut off on the bottom so I can't access the inventory! Is there a way to fix this?

I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble seeing the bottom of the screen. That certainly makes it difficult for you to play. I don't believe, and I may be wrong, that Dire Grove was optimized for a netbook use. Certainly the recommended system specifications might rule out most netbooks from being used to play the game (CPU: 2.0 GHz, RAM: 1280 MB ). The reason I point this out is to let others know that they should be sure to double check their system specifications before purchasing the game.

However, if you are able to run the game, I would recommend adjusting your screen resolution to see if you can get it to fit correctly. Here's a link to information on how to adjust your screen resolution. I hope this helps!

I just thought I'd drop by and let everyone know that we have a great walkthrough for this game available for free in the Big Fish Games blog. If you have any trouble with any of the puzzles here, this should be your first step:

I'm sorry to hear that you are having trouble with the game. I would recommend checking out this help page article:

Access Violation

If the profile is corrupt, you may need to restart with a new profile. However, I wouldn't recommend doing so until you have gone through the steps in this article.

Since the game is out now, I'm going to go ahead and lock this thread. I'll also move it over to the Mystery Case Files: Dire Grove forum. I've enjoyed reading everyone's theories and ideas for the new game. I hope everyone enjoyed dissecting the clues and Picman's cryptic puzzles as much as I have!

The morphing objects will occur in scenes where you aren't looking for hidden objects. They are very tricky to spot, but if you take your time you might be able to find them all. Good luck!

MsFreddie wrote:I thought this games was going to be around 600 megabytes and therefor available on back up CD. When I go to buy the game it says it's 943.78 kb (?) and it looks like it's too big for a backup CD. Can someone please confirm the situation cos I would love to have it on CD as well.

Hi MsFreddie,

The game will be available on CD. There is a difference between how big the download is and how much space you will need on your hard drive for the game to install correctly. Here's a link to more information in our Collector’s Edition Frequently Asked Questions. Just in case!

Good question this week purplehaze72! My wife and I have good friends who moved to England a few years ago. We really miss them. So we are always looking for any excuse we can get to go to Europe. We've only been once so far. We were lucky enough to spend about a week in London and three days in Paris (we got engaged in Paris, btw). I really loved Paris and I really want to go back. But, there are some other cool European countries I'd like to visit as well (Scotland, Ireland, Germany, etc.).

I'm still not 100% sure when the CE will be available to the public. I'm confused, lol. Guess time will tell. Picman's post seems to say December, but I could be reading it wrong.

Opps! I stand corrected: The Collector's Edition of the game will only be available to Game Club members. I hope that helps clear up the confusion!
