I'm playing the demo from another site, so maybe that's the problem. But I need the incense and matches and can't pick them up. Have painted the portrait and locked the monster out of the bedroom, moved the rock, but can't do anything else. I've started over twice and tried to pick up the items first, but no luck. I've completed all the reading (I think) and tasks so far. Any ideas?

Not much to add that hasn't already been said, but wanted to add my . Not too easy, not too hard, but you do have to discover things in the right order or the sparkly bits won't show up until you do. Had the same frustration as others on the bus, for example. Excellent graphics, different story line than the usual. I really liked it.

Ditto the black screen and music only. Ctrl-Alt-Del to get out of it. Wasting my hour trying to get it to work. I'll pass.

emmyjayne wrote:I played the demo for about 5 minutes then had to go somewhere. Now that I'm back I cannot get the game to start. Looks like this is a prevalent issue based on comments in this forum. I noticed in the task manager that it keeps starting two Slingo.exes(not apps just processes - which may be why some people are getting the message that a game is already running). But even after I've killed each process, rebooted, and restarted the game nothing happens. This game goes in the trash. Not even worth trying to fix. Someone in an earlier post mentioned how much this has been happening a lot lately with BF games - I'm running into the same thing. I have a technical background and don't mind troubleshooting but this is getting old. My drivers, etc., are all up to date and my computer is less than a year old wtih plenty of RAM. What gives, BF?
Ditto! Not only will it not run, but I can't play any other games either without a reboot. I uninstalled it.

Swimming against the tide here to say I really liked it (although age 3 nearly did me in). Had to leave it for days at a time, then come back and just keep at it, trying different bonus combos until I got through it. A lot of luck was necessary, too, and sometimes I just quit a level and started over if it wasn't going well. Very, very frustrating, I'll admit, especially to have the timer run out with only 1 or 2 to go. But ages 4 and 5 were worth the anguish -- lots of explosions and pyrotechnics with mega-bonuses to make it all very fun and easy from that point on.

Help! I have all the voodoo dolls, have done the chalk drawings and the circle, but it won't let me place the Ann doll on the sun drawing. Have I missed something?? I've already turned the wheel to stifle the monkeys but haven't dealt with the snake yet.

Are you talking about the banker? If so, set fire to the voodoo doll that looks like a safe to get rid of him.

Universal Hint System has maps of each area. They're not perfect but are better than nothing. Just Google it; can't post links here.

My two favorite games of all time were Syberia and Syberia II and I actually felt sad when I finished them, so did not hesitate to buy this one. It has the same breathtaking graphics and scenery and characters who speak the dialog (I'm pretty sure I heard "Oscar" in the deepest part of the mine). I'm almost to the end, and have to say it's been a little bit disappointing, but I'm not sorry I bought it. It's a much darker and bleaker story, and the characters don't have the charm, to me, as they did in Syberia. In Syberia, Kate had Oscar and their love/hate relationship, which I thought added much to the story. Here the main character, "Ann," is pretty much on her own throughout and continually encounters hostile characters and people getting killed all around her. While the overall graphics are stunning, the characters' movements don't always match up well with the background, and they all have some pretty annoying mannerisms that they repeat over and over, even Ann. My biggest gripe about it is that it is just so darned difficult! I could not imagine getting through it without a walkthrough (although people obviously have), and sometimes I have grown weary of constantly checking back to figure out what the heck to do next. I do enjoy a challenge, and this is surely a big one. On the plus side, there is not as much going back and forth over and over the same ground as with Syberia. Overall, I give it a thumbs-up, but slightly less than for the Syberias (haven't tried the other Sokol games so can't compare).

He used to have his own show, Special Report, but he "retired" at the end of the year and now just does occasional stuff. He's great and I really miss him. But the guy who replaced him on Special Report (6PM Eastern) is just as good and a lot cuter!

OMG, I thought something was wrong with my 'puter, it was so bad! Could only stand it for about 15 minutes, then uninstalled it. BFG really missed the mark on this one.

Oooooo, you have a little hussy running around! I've just added pink star shaped sunglasses. She's too cute!

I have on green butterfly tank top and green gym pants with a red cowboy hat, red cape and am carrying a pinwheel. This game is so silly and so fun -- I love the part about the "inter-knot!"

I have the daisy seeds and bought some additional farm land, but can't figure out how to get the flower garden started so I can plant the seeds. It won't let me plant them in the vegetable garden. This game is so different and so addicting!

Way, way, way too difficult! I stupidly walked away during the demo and let my time run out before I realized I couldn't get past the first section. I've tried over and over and over to get that diamond, but to no avail. And I'm reasonably coordinated. Creative, fun, truly different, but no good if you can't get past the beginning. Would never have bought it if I'd played the entire demo time.

Absolutely breathtaking! Artwork, music, story...all of it. Having the characters speak really added to the experience. The only problem is that now I am spoiled for any other games as I just can't imagine anything coming even close to these.

Finally got it to work. No need to click on the item again once it's been "taken" from inventory!

Help please!! I have tried over and over to place the 2nd fax on the hand of the automaton outside the notary's door, but I keep getting a dialog box that says something like "if that's going to work, it looks like something is missing.." What on earth am I doing wrong?? I've right clicked to display the inventory, then left clicked on the fax so that it shows up in the lower left-hand corner, then left clicked on it to pick it up. So how do you know you've actually picked it up? Is it just a matter if finding the "right" spot to place it in the hand?

You need to move the dominoes to match up with the one on top, then build from there. It took me a few tries to get it to work. IIRC, you just drag and it it's a match, it will automatically rotate if necessary and snap into place.
