You're right, Kadoffe. Even the update in early Sept. only delayed the slow motion until a few levels later. Wait until you get to level 250 or higher. It's painfully slow. And, of course, there was never an update to be able to get all the trophies, either. My suggestion: play the levels you can, when you're bored; because this is one game they will never fix properly (among others).

This is based on what I remember from the beta test for this game. There are 3 modes of play and it auto supports widescreen monitors. You can play a flip and match game instead of the HO game if you wish to do so. Loved the storyline and the graphics were top notch as well. You also have the choice to play with the system cursor instead of a custom curser. Those are the notes I took, but I do remember noting that I HAVE to have this game, but will most likely wait until next month since my card is empty and I know I wouldn't fill it by the end of the month.

firekat7 wrote:Well, lucky me. I can't play any of my games now. Game manager returns an access violation error for every single game in my game manager except BigFish Casino. I've been working on it with customer service for a week and nothing we've tried works, not even the tech person's suggestion. So I am relegated to online games. Conspiracy? Probably not. Soooooo frustrating.

Has anyone else had more frequent access error violations since the new game manager came out? Why does the game manager work seamlessly for online games but not for download games? And why don't we have the option of playing our download games offline like we used to?

Secret Mission is now my code word for any BFG problem that can't be fixed easily and quickly.

Did they do the following with you? If not, try these out. They probably did, but just a suggestion in case:
1. uninstall the game manager
2. delete all game manager files under program files/data files in you OS
3. Add BF games to your white list under security on control panel - you can find their list of 3 programs on their help page
4. Install the game manager again. If they had you go to advanced tab and click 'alternate method' for downloads, uncheck it and check the other one. They had me check 'alternate method' and nothing worked at all until I checked the normal route for downloads box. Forget what it's called.

I'm not sure if this will help or not, but even after they 'fixed' mine, I had to do what is my step 4 to get my new game manager to work even though they didn't tell me to do that.

And, there will NEVER be an answer to what happened with the secret mission and why we can't get the final trophy to show up. And their "fix"? It's hilarious. The higher levels will start out super, super slow and then speed up so fast that it makes me lol. This is one game they'll never fix, like a lot of the others. I've seen games for the last month that I think about buying and then see 40 technical problems that are pretty major with no fix in sight. Too busy with other stuff I guess.

This game has been out for a while and there are plenty of reviews for this game, but I wanted to add this for anyone who is looking for a great game. The wonderful graphics will be more than worth the price of the game! I sat several times and just took in the beautiful scenery. The game plays well, with no glitches, which is getting rare these days, no matter how good your computer is. I will be keeping this one on my computer just to play once in a while to take in the things I know I missed. It's a beautiful little game and most will love it - excepting hard core HO players.

Gamerlaurie wrote:Thanks Firekat, Yes to all the above.... As a matter of fact I just had my entire Computer Registry cleaned out. By Dell. So I am not understanding the Freezes. And my ver. should be the new updated one that they just posted on 9/6/13. A couple of days ago.... I was looking in the forums, and evidently this wasn't the only problem the game had... A lot of peeps couldn't find the final Mission at the end...

There still is no secret mission and still no answer as to why the 'build an airport' trophy doesn't work at all. My computer is still having problems with the game lagging, but not as bad as before the 9-6 update. They had me do a million things, including reinstalling the game manager and still there are problems with a game that should have been very simple to finish and continue on until you were able to get all gold trophies. But, no, let's focus on the new stuff we're doing and not pay that much attention to the people who actually buy games. I know that sounds harsh, but it seems as of late more and more games are glitch-filled and you have to deal with an email CS instead of live chat. I feel like the big fish around here might be getting a little too big, if you catch what I mean.

Well, here it is, six days after the update and still no answer about the secret mission. Oh, and the update helped, but my higher levels still go slower than they should. I guess I regret buying this game more than any other since there is no way to totally finish the game by getting 'gold' on all the trophies. Lesson learned.

firekat7 wrote:bfgBaikal is still working on this for us. It's the weekend so it's unlikely we'll hear anything before Monday.

The company is changing it's business strategy and changing some staffing and locations. Once the dust has settled, there should be an increase in customer service again.

Hang in there, folks.

In the meantime, enjoy your weekend.

Thanks for the info, firekat7. It has been a very frustrating journey with this little game. I did manage to play enough to get the airport to gold on the 'play' page, but the 'stroll: build an airport' is still blank. Hope Baikal finds the answer for this one and soon before I go nuts having to start the game over and over again.

I broke down and uninstalled the game and changed some settings and was able to download the 'new' version and FOR WHAT?! I have completed almost 60 levels since beginning yet again, and still I get nothing on the stroll excepting for the new words 'build an airport'. No bronze trophy - just the same blank space on the trophy page as before. HOW STUPID! I don't know what's been going on with BF as of late, but I'm not liking what I'm seeing. A lot of the games are full of glitches as of late and now you can't even chat because they are too busy answering emails! I guess that just proves what everyone has been saying - BF is getting too big for the pond and we're just a means to an end - money.

Well, from what I've been reading, there is an update that basically does nothing. I decided to click on the update in game manager and guess what I got: download timed out - less than 30 seconds after clicking to download. So, until someone comes up with an answer for that one, which has repeated several times, I guess I'll just keep playing the old one without the ability to get all the trophies, ugh!

firekat7 wrote:BossBrat, I am so sorry you are having so much trouble with your game. Mine is just fine, no slowing down at higher levels.

Badut, seems like BFG recently cut way back on Customer Service and Moderators. BFBaikal is a moderator, not Customer Service, so I was hoping we would get another perspective. Haven't heard back from him/her yet, but I'm sure he/she is doing the work of 10 people now. Haven't heard back from Peter T. yet either.

General Update: In searching for an answer in other popular game sites, everyone is having trouble triggering the secret mission and no answers from developers, distributors, users.

Thanks for the tears, I was able to fix the problem with the game and guess what it was - after all the CS back and forth? THE GAME MANAGER! They insisted from the beginning that wasn't the problem but I had no problem with the game until AFTER the new game manager installed. So, it was uninstall, delete this, delete that, reinstall gm and things are fine. The only bad part is that I lost all the progress I made, grrr, and am now back down to level 101. OH, and STILL NO ANSWER AS TO THE SECRET MISSION!

Things got so bad with this game that it won't even download now, let alone install. I am currently working with CS, but this crud of having to do everything by email is making this a VERY slow process. Now I'm getting an error 2 code which has something to do with Windows Vista and I'm running W7! So, it's more wait and wait some more. You would think they would care more about their club members and keep the chat open like it should be so we can get our problems fixed quicker.

I had all of the gold trophies by the time my game quit working and still no secret mission. I doubt we'll ever know, to be honest.

tarrocket, just a quick question. you have mentioned it is 3 years old more than once. i have looked and looked and found the only release date is 8/21/13 which is the official release a day after bf does it's tomorrow's game today thing.

i'm in no way picking on you. i'm just curious. before i buy a game i always check the release date and that was the only date i could come up with. what am i missing.

I am the person who said the game is 3 years old. You can find that information on the game itself when it loads, at the very bottom. I don't remember the exact date, but know it was 3 years ago. I still have no solution to the secret mission. In fact, I was given a game credit, which tells me we may never know!

Lindy20 and everyone, I know what Lindy20 is talking about. The words THE END, START and what looks like EVI and another letter are in later levels. However, I am on level 330+ and I have gotten those same puzzles 2 times. So, whatever it is that we are supposed to do, if it has anything to do with those certain puzzles, is still missing. I have gotten GOLD on all trophies except 1 and still nothing. I hope to get gold on the last one today (you can tell how bored I am, lol). If getting gold on all the trophies triggers something I will certainly post, but I'm not holding my breath.

I am waiting for response to a 2nd email from BF but don't expect an answer until at least Tuesday or later, due to Labor Day in the USA.

Here I am - AGAIN! I updated my video card, reinstalled the game and spent several mindless hours completing the game. And guess what?! YEP! STILL NO SECRET MISSION! THIS STINKS! So, it's back to the email to let them know that they still don't know what they're talking about, obviously. After all, who needs to update a video card that plays REAL video games (not point and click) when all I'm playing is a 3 year old match 3 game. GEE! Sorry, needed to vent.

I, too, got a response from BF and for the first time ever the rep was in Ireland, not the USA. I was advised that reinstalling the game would be the best solution and that my gforce card should have been updated in June. Well, since this game is 3 years old, what possible difference could that make in the first place?! I get automatic update info from NVidia all the time and this update wasn't included. I will update the card, but it really bugs me that I have to reinstall the game, as I have almost every trophy at 'gold' and will have to start over from zilch! And, if this game starts glitching out on me, you will hear me scream all the way from OK, as I had no problems playing the game when so many did. The only problem I had was not getting the 'secret mission'. So, once I update and reinstall, and IF I get the secret mission this time around, I'll post and let you know.

This game is by "Quick Click" and is 3 years old. I was looking for the developer to try and find what the so-called 'secret mission' is since I finished the game and didn't have one (that I know of) and saw it was done in 2010. Gee, no wonder I can't find out anything about this game. If anyone knows what the secret mission is, please PM me or post it under 'secret mission' in forums. THANKS!

Has ANYONE figured out what the secret mission was? I finished the game and then played a while longer just to see if I would get this 'secret mission' and nothing, nada. I beta tested this game and had no intention of buying it, but it was a use it or lose it situation and so I got it. IF YOU FIGURE OUT THE SECRET MISSION, PLEASE SHARE WITH EVERYONE! THANKS!
karbuff wrote:I don't normally post in the forums but had the strangest thing happen this morning when I purchased the game. When I clicked to Install the game after the purchase, got the standard Microsoft prompt telling me the file could be harmful and asking if I want to "run", "save" or "cancel". I hit "run" as I do every time this prompt comes up, only this time - nothing happened. I clicked on it several times, still nothing happened. Finally, I clicked the arrow next to the save button, dropping down the menu and selected "save and run". Finally, the Game Manager opened and the game began to download. It was extremely strange and I just wanted to share it as it appears that other people have had strange things happen with this game. I have never had this happen before.

As some other people stated, I also had strange things happen with yesterday's game. Every now and then, I would see a fast message on the screen saying something about my firewall and then the game would go to black screen and minimize to the taskbar. As soon as I clicked on the Icon, it reopened were it was with the game paused and I was able to play the complete game with nothing else going on other than this - but another strange occurrence with a game.

I am positive this is a big fish issue (run issue), as I had the same thing happen to me last night when I was downloading an older game to demo. It would not let me run, had to save the file. So, it's either a big fish problem or the options pop up has a glitch, not sure which.

I, too, was very disappointed with not only the 'bonus content', but the entire game. The first thing that hit me was how poorly Leah Thompson's acting was. The guy who worked for the ghost patrol was 100% better - even funny. And, what's the ticket for once you find the 50 morphing objects - NOTHING! I am assuming it's a 'clue' to the next MCF, IDK.

I felt more like I was watching an interactive 'B' movie than anything. I even played the game again, since my first play through was interrupted by several unplanned events. Had the same feeling after playing straight through as I did the first time around.

This game is one of my least favorites - 13 skulls and last year's disaster being the others. Dire Grove is still my absolute favorite. I loved it and had so much fun playing it. I think, IMHO, developers are worried more about adding 'live actors' than game play. If you take out the cut scenes with Leah and the others, you have, possibly, a game that would take less than 2 hours to complete. Sorely disappointed to say the least.

I agree that BF releasing the game during a sale and not including it just stinks. Game Club members are, after all, the ones BF can depend on buying games day after day and we are rewarded by being excluded from a sale simply because this game is exclusive to club members! Well, BIG WHOOP! WE SHOULD BE THE ONES BF wants to give the discounts to, not just people who buy a game once in a while!

This happened a short while back and some people paid full price for a game and then it went on sale the next day(?). Again, non-members get the sale - we get the shaft.

I will not purchase this game until it's offered as a discount, or, I'll simply wait and get the SE version and use a free game code to get it! BF should really stop and think a moment and realize they should be as loyal to us as we are to them.
