I reached the final few levels of the regular game, and I suddenly lost the buttons on the right side of the level screen. No level, including the tournament or levels I had previously beaten, had it anymore.

I looked through all the threads and other places online and didn't see a solution, so I thought I was going to just have to quit playing without finishing. However, as a last resort, I tried changing the game screen from full screen to windowed, and suddenly the buttons were back! This was the case on all game levels, including the tournament. I tested this out by switching back after I had quit and restarted the game, and the buttons are definitely still gone in full-screen mode, but there in windowed mode. So whatever the glitch is, it must have something to do with the coding for the full-screen graphics.

So for anyone else that had this issue (or has it in the future), you might try this to see if it solves your problem. I don't know if operating system makes a difference (I play on Windows 7 currently). Hopefully this will help someone who was in the same boat I was.

I'm also suffering the Level 27 bug, and have tried reinstalling but the problem persists. I have an older system with Vista, but haven't had any issues with the first game or the second until that level so I agree that the problem probably lies in the update somewhere.

I had two characters who somehow "merged" together, so my first profile now has my second profile's number and friends. I lost all the friends my first profile had, so if you are looking for me, here I am! I would love to have my old friends back and will accept new friends too; I always try to return gifts, but it sometimes takes a few days because I have time constraints that limit my playing. So if you are new, please be patient if you gift to me; it will eventually be reciprocated!

My (new) ID is: 572343 (playing as Megara, old number 146833. Old profile name for this account was Freddy; sadly, he seems to be gone for good).

I didn't see this mentioned anywhere else on the forum (if it was, please forgive me), and I was wondering if anyone else noticed that suddenly the Iron Chest (at the crossroads near the inn) is only missing one eye instead of two, and now only requires one Muderer's Eye to open? Is this something from the new update, or is it a bonus from getting the new avatars from the month-long event? Because I'm pretty sure I just opened that not that long ago and it took two eyes.

If it's permanent, that's one less eye to find in the future! It makes me wonder what other zoom zones might have been changed...

I have the sticker issue as well. I've been playing ever since the game came out, and there are several stickers that have never appeared in my book, even though I know I've gotten them more than once. Specifically, the character with the swords from the Asian theme, and one of the regular sports figures (I can't remember what it looked like, but it is the one from the bottom-left corner of the book). There are also empty spots that I have never seen a sticker for. All together, I've only been able to finish the first two pages. Is there any word on if this glitch will be fixed? I'm playing the updated version of the game.

I don't know if it helps, but I found that when I did the best in the HOS scenes (100% accuracy, quick speeds, around 18,000 score) I got lower percentages on the wheel. Also, I was never able to find all three tokens in each scene, but if I chose scenes at random (instead of moving left to right) the tokens seemed to be more evident than just taking the rooms left to right.

The tokens are actually more important than the high scores; you really need to have at least 12 (four spins) to make your score high enough. So my strategy was to aim for between 13,000-15,000 score (again, the higher scores seemed to trigger lower percentages on the wheel), and at least 12 tokens, and I seemed to hit 30%-50% on at least two spins, and 20%-30% on the others, which usually got me into the top 100. Once I got my achievement I don't participate very often anymore, so that others will have a chance to do the same.

Hopefully this strategy will work for someone else. Good luck everyone!

I'm happy to add friends for the spring event, but I can only play for a short time in the evenings so don't worry if you aren't added immediately after requesting. No gifts are necessary!

My friend code is 146833.

Unfortunately, there are only a few places left that I know of where you can still download the game (after the developer quit offering it). But luckily the first two Chocolatier games that came out were also released on CD at retail stores (I own them that way; I prefer to get discs whenever I can for the precise reason that you never know when something will become unavailable!). I've seen the retail versions for sale in both new and used conditions at a variety of stores and sites that sell through third-party vendors, and I think there's even a version of the original game that was released in cartridge form for a handheld system, though I've never played it that way. I don't think they are that expensive, either.

If you are also looking for other games like this, try the Tradewinds series (it's an older series, but I still love to play them). That developer has also been bought out and no longer exists, but Big Fish still offers their games, and they were available in retail disc form, too. They are similar in that they involve "trading" from city to city, buying and selling goods, and fulfilling quests. They also had multiple characters and storylines to choose from, too. Good luck!

To get around this, I complete all my farm tasks (it seems like the more plants and animals you need to take care of, the more often the wheel will freeze, especially if the workers are queued for multiple tasks). Then, I return to the main menu. I wait about 2-3 seconds, then go back into the game and click the wheel. 80% of the time the wheel will open for me with no problems, compared to about 5% if I try to use it while the farm is "active." If it doesn't and it freezes, I close the game, re-open it, then click the wheel; it only freezes again about 2% of the time after a restart.

The other thing that causes a freeze in my game is opening the collections menu, especially if they have been building up for a few days. So, I usually wait to open that until after I have spun the wheel; again, returning to the main menu not only saves what you've already accomplished, but it seems to help clear whatever game lags are causing the wheel and collections to freeze. Hope this helps someone.

I've seen the 0, 0, 0 problem in my game, but it only happens to me if I play the wheel of fortune in Trina's room (I've never visited friend's rooms, so not sure if that causes it too); just entering her room or fullfilling her quests doesn't seem to trigger it. I just work around it for now by waiting to play the wheel until right before I'm ready to shut down. Exiting the game and going back in WILL allow you to gain coins and points on the hidden object scenes again. Hopefully the developers will be able to fix the issue with the next update.

I'd like to join in on wondering if the slot machines are glitched; I've played the "free" spin every day since the feature was added, plus I've played for varying lengths of time on all of the different gold coin levels, with coins won and coins purchased, but I have NEVER hit a bonus on either machine. I have at least one of every item the game offers, except for a few tied to levels I haven't reached yet, and I'd like to complete my set with the slot machine prizes. So if not winning really isn't a glitch, it would be nice if you could incorporate a feature into a future update that allowed you to increase your odds of getting one, or at least post some hints/tips on how to make the prizes pop up. Thanks!

I know they aren't moderating this thread anymore, but for anyone else having issues with the game not connecting, I noticed that I could not get the connection to work on my newer computer running Vista (which I think has many similarities with Windows 7), but when I copied my save file to my 12+ years' old XP laptop and ran the game, I had no problems connecting at all. The two attempts were within minutes of each other. I don't know if it had anything to do with Windows or with the type of Wireless card each had, but maybe finding an older computer and trying the game out on that might help someone who still wants to play but just can't connect to send keys or get the daily rewards.

I was friends with Mary42, but when I logged in the other day she was gone! I know I didn't delete her, and she had just sent me a message, so I don't think she would have purposely deleted me, either, so I'm assuming it is a glitch. If anyone else is friends with her, would you let her know I'm looking for her, and point her here or pass on my friend code so we can reconnect? I'm Blevins in-game, and my friend code is 797 3670.

I had a friend that somehow was accidently deleted when the game glitched. That person added me through the random picks, so the chances of my finding that person again that way is pretty slim, so I thought I'd try posting here just in case that person is ever looking for me to add me back, even though it's kind of a long shot. I don't want to give out the full user name, in case they wouldn't like that, but if you see this M----2, my friend code is 797 3670, and you can probably guess who I was based on my user name here! If you happen to share this friend, it would be great if you'd let them know I've posted here, in case they want to join forces again.

I'll be happy to add anyone else who needs friends, but please be aware that I only check in about once per day, and I split up my keys among all my friends who need one, so the amount I send could be many, or could be none.

My game was fine Saturday night, but Sunday night it had completely reset me back to level 1, restarting the game and wiping out everything I had. I had not done an update between Saturday and Sunday. I tried replacing the save file with a backup I had made a few days before, but it was also reset to the beginning. I tried reinstalling the game and re-copying the backup save, and exiting/entering the game several different times, but it will not go back to where I was. Hopefully someone will find out what's causing the problem, but it's so hard to complete the quests in this game that I probably won't start playing again unless I can continue from roughly where I left off. I'm not interested in starting over again.

Recently I've been trying to back up a lot of my files, and one little glitch I noticed was that if I play the game while an external drive is plugged into a USB port, when the game starts up I have no text at all. All the windows, Daily Quest, Daily Rewards, etc. are there, but they are all blank, as are my gold bars, money, and time totals. It's like the fonts can't load.

If the game is closed and the drive unplugged, it starts up fine again. This hasn't affected my saved game at all, but it's unusual (I've also seen a USB device adversely affect other F2P games, most notably Archie's Riverdale Rescue). So if anyone ever has this happen to their game, make sure you don't have a USB device plugged in!

I wish there was a way for players who started playing late to still get the collectibles that are no longer available, especially if it is going to be awhile between updates. For example, I started playing last January, so I completely missed the Thanksgiving and Christmas quests. I waited all year, hoping they'd either repeat or have a new set of quests with the same rewards, but nothing so far for Thanksgiving and I'm not holding out much hope for Christmas, and they were far too expensive when the auction house was allowing people to sell them for gold. I know they were meant to be "exclusive," but I hate seeing those blank spots in my collection screen, knowing I can never fill them.

It would be great if your antique shop could do "special orders" for a set amount of gold or silver, and you could buy collectibles that can't be gotten through the auction house. That would make your business nice-looking AND functional! And, it would give people who have advanced levels and have amassed large amounts of resources something new to spend their money on.

I switch between the slots every day, and usually play 100 coins at a time after the free spin (unless I win on that, and need to even the coins out) until I lose 500 coins. I've played since they opened the casino, and only bought coins twice with gold, but I have never won either bonus prize. If someone knows how to increase your odds, I'd love to hear it!

My friend code is 975, if anyone needs to add more friends. I try to at least check into the game every day if I can, even if I don't have time to play.

Thanks, Charlemagne, for testing out my fix! When I was troubleshooting, I couldn't believe that something so simple as a flash drive or having an IE window open could cause it to not recognize the save file. But at least it's an easier fix than reinstalling constantly, although I'd still recommend to everyone that they backup their saved game after doing something major like finishing a special event or buying sodas, just in case.

For anyone who missed it, basically unplug all external drives or devices from your hard drive, make sure the ONLY program with a window open is the BFG Game manager (I think antivirus programs and internet connections are ok, as long as they are in the background and not open on your desktop), then play the game and you shouldn't (crosses fingers) have any problems.

I'm so glad that it worked for you, and hope maybe it will solve someone else's problem in the future. If not, the voodoo doll option is always there as a back up.
