why can't I stop a game and continue it later without having to start over like most games?

I bought this game because I have other games like it and enjoyed playing those and wanted something a little different and its different alright , its so hard that I can't even advance to other levels , I wish I could get my money back ,I like a challenge but not impossible , I wish I new what this game was like before I purchased it
