This CE has NO proper bonus chapter.
Just a chapter from an older game.

For details please look at thread "deja vu"

It was a bit of a search, the only way I found to to contact BF was trough "help" on the opening page, just right of "community".

Then click on "Technical"

Scroll down to the bottom, on the very bottom left there is a blue button with the text "?Support".

There you can enter your text.

This was my text

Hello,

I have a complaint about Vermillion Watch: In Blood.

The "bonus" chapter of "In Blood" is a copy of " Vermillion Watch:Fleshbound" Chapter2:College.

Every minigame is EXACTLY the same.
Every HOP is EXACTLY the same.
All the scenery is EXACTLY the same.

I feel cheated, swindled, not by BF but by Eipix.
My mails to Eipix were returned as undeliverable.

I paid for a Collectors Edition that has NO, repeat NO bonus chapter. Just a slight rehash of part of an older game.

What I would suggest:
1)Contact the management about this practice of Eipix.
(If nothing is done I can NEVER be sure that a CE has a REAL bonus chapter)
2)Refund me in the form of a Collecters Edition Coupon.

Regards,

JaceDelft.

I got a return mail stating that they had not read my mail but gave me a code for a replacement game CE or SE anyway. Valid for 1 week.

I worked! I got a free CE!

But happy I am not.
Perhaps if more people send my text or similar it might eventually cause BF to tell Eipix that a chapter of an old game as Bonus Chapter is really not done.

(and you might get a free game)

Yes! This "bonus" chapter is a copy of Chapter 2: College of VW:Fleshbound

Every minigame is exactly the same.
Every HOP is exactly the same.
All the scenery is exactly the same.

The only difference is in the persons.

I am angry.
I feel cheated.

I paid for a Collectors Edition that has no bonus chapter, just a slight rehash of an old game.
If I want to replay a game I am perfectly capable of doing so myself.

It will be a long time before I buy an Eipix game again.

(Sorry for the strong language)

In chapter one you have to set values on on four dice set in a horses hoof.
I could only solve this through the strategy guide.

What did I miss?

I really HATE those fast click games.
Developers apparently have never heard of RSI .
I believe that this should be forbidden for medical reasons!

Finally solved it by holding the mouse fixed with my left hand.
Then drumming the button with three fingers of my right hand.

Actually I had no problem with this one at all.
Tilt the glass with paint and wait till the paint reaches the far edge.
Then let go of the mouse button.

Had to do the middle one twice.
Left and right ones first time right.

Thank you WilJul,

Glad to know that I am not the only one with this problem!

I am running Windows 10, so it cannot be the operating system.

Looks more like a programming error to me.

Has anyone managed to get all achievements?

I missed four:

Under Pressure (Complete a hidden object puzzle in less than a minute)
I did that in the extras but apparently that does not count.

Steady Hand (Complete a hidden object puzzle without a misclick)
Did that several times in the main game, but no achievement.

Seeker (Find all collectables)
I did! 33/33. Are there any other collectables that I missed?

Three in Three (Find 3 hidden objects in 3 seconds)
I did! several times. But no achievement.

Any help will be appreciated.

Found this on Facebook:

December 24 at 9:39am ·

We would like to take today as an opportunity to inform you of the state of our cursed trilogy.
We are sending the game to Big Fish Games and a couple of other publishers before end January. We have already agreed and the game will be published. Then, as soon as we are given a date a date, we will announce it.

For those who still remotely trust what we're saying, some details:
After our last announcement, the Android sales failed to materialize. The first 5 months brought in less than $300...
Later the sales did pick up and did so quite significantly. We expect to reach a MILLION downloads by the end of the year! Unfortunately, by that time we were once again deep in debt and had to take on several minor jobs.
We went back to True Fear in September and were hoping to release the game by the end of the year (hence the snowy cover page), but failed to predict the sheer amount of bugs and errors. We'll figure out who's fault it is before we start work on the last chapter...

After we failed to keep our last word, Dimmie decreed that we won't make any more public announcements until we have a solid date.
We don't exactly have that now, but we're absolutely confident in the above statement - the game is finished, bonus chapter and bonus materials included and we're just waiting for a few texts now. We have no other plans and we do have the necessary finance to finish everything.

Thank you so much for everything! We've thanked you for the patience and support so many times that it is hard to say anything else with a straight face...
A special thanks to our new Android fans - if True Fear 2 sales will be anything like the first game, Android alone should finance the sequel. Meaning that we will no longer depend on publishers and approvals in the future. It took us almost 18 years to get here.
And Dimmie would like to thank all those sending their support and (very deserved) outrage. He particularly liked the one message about the fact that many fans had time to have children while waiting for the sequel. He printed and hang that one over his desk.
Happy Holidays!!!

Who knows maybe I will live long enough to play True Fear 2....

On page 1 of the diary it says:

"Our last adventure was quite interesting. It turns out that you can encounter banshees in North America! Fiona got carried away with the mythological aspect and we almost got caught. I'm never letting my sister take the lead again! I thought that piercing banshee scream would be the last thing I ever heard. I hope it won't have any lingering consequences..."

Does this refer to an earlier game? It must involve both Fiona and Rachel and a banshee.

I played all of the series except Alone in the Mists and Return to another world.
In the Surface games reviews I could not find any reference to Fiona and/or Rachel. Nor to a banshee.

Does any one know what game the diary refers to?

I am really curious.

Thanks for any reactions,

jace.

Whoever came up with this game has never taken an art class. Green is not a primary, it should be yellow and blue makes green. No wonder I was having trouble!

Yes that is true for PAINT. Paints can only absorb light.
This is called subtractive color mixing. (look it up!)

The rules for mixing light are different.
The game has it exactly right!
The primary colors for light are Red Green and Blue, check your monitor.
Red + Green DOES produce Yellow.
This is Additive Color mixing. (look it up!)

Apologies for the lecture,

charfroust,

Had exactly the same problem in the crypt.
I run Windows XP 32bit Home on a nine year old desktop.

When I restarted the game (for the 3rd time) I went to the Ritual site first and placed the Cup with Blood.

Then I returned to the crypt and got the rose. Everything worked fine from then.

Hope this helps.

I also get the "not enough video memory" error.

This is only the second time I got this error

With the upgrade of Maze 360 I could get it to work by reducing the Color Quality.
Alas this trick does not work for this game .

On my 9 year old Windows XP desktop this is actually the very first time that I cannot play a Demo for any reason at all....

The info says:

Place the code plates in the right order.
A red X indicates a spot where no plate can be placed.

On the piece of paper are the code plate images and on the right a 6x2 matrix with a red cross in some of the boxes.

This has me completely stumped.

What is the connection between the code plate image and the the crosses?
I see no clues in the background image.

If anyone can shed a light on this it would be much appreciated.

I completely agree. These games have no place in a HOPA.

As I am very bad at this type op game it usually means I have to use the skip button and miss an achievement.

Late as ever.

I also could not find a way to go back and retrieve missed collectables.

For me this game plays just fine. (up to now of course)

Possible fix for insufficient video memory.

I too am a Windows XP user. (In 9 days my PC will be 9 years old!)

With the latest update of "Maze Subject 360" (that restored the SG) I did have the crash due to insufficient memory.

Found a fix for the insufficient video memory error in Maze Subject 360.
I reduced the color quality from 32 bits to 16.
(right click the screen > properties > Settings > Color Quality)
This will give you twice as much memory, as each pixel now takes only 2 bytes instead of 4.

I could see the difference on the desktop, but not within the game. Afterwards I just changed the quality back to 32 bit.

Hope this helps someone.

Several times during the game I get on the top of the screen:

ERRORS 2 | DEBUG | CLEAR X
>
[Shaders] tools/data/_shaders/blur_h.cg : error C6001: Temporary register limit of 12 exceeded; 15 registers needed to compile program
[Shaders] tools/data/_shaders/blur_v.cg : error C6001: Temporary register limit of 12 exceeded; 15 registers needed to compile program

Otherwise the game plays fine. Except...

The "Night Vision Goggles" seem to be low on power.
They just turn everything green, but don't show anything new.

In chapter 1 the room to the left of the lift just stayed black even though the SG showed there were a lot of things visible.

Especially in the HO scenes this was annoying as I had to use the hint to find where the objects were.

Still the game was playable...

Oh! Using windows XP.

The strategy guide is back! But...

Last week I decided to replay Maze 360.
The game played Fine. After a while I noticed that the strategy guide was missing.
So I did the delete and reload.

Lo and behold! The SG was back.

I did get an error, just like with Maze Tower.

ERRORS 2 | DEBUG | CLEAR X
>
[Shaders] tools/data/_shaders/blur_h.cg : error C6001: Temporary register limit of 12 exceeded; 15 registers needed to compile program
[Shaders] tools/data/_shaders/blur_v.cg : error C6001: Temporary register limit of 12 exceeded; 15 registers needed to compile program

Shortly after the game crashed due to insufficient video memory.

So I got the SG back, but I can't play the game anymore.

That's progress I suppose.

Maybe they are just abandoning the Windows XP users.

EDIT EDIT EDIT:
Found a fix for the insufficient video memory error.
I reduced the color quality from 32 bits to 16.
(right click the screen > properties > Settings > Color Quality)
This will give you twice as much memory, as each pixel now takes only 2 bytes instead of 4.

Today (Monday Sep 19 = Punch Card day) I bought this game with a Punch Card Coupon...

To my surprise I got not ONE but TWO punches.
I bought another game with a PCC, and again got TWO punches.

That got me a free game much sooner than expected.

Is this a one time thing?
Or a Policy change, used to get 0 punch except on punch days when you got 1 for a PCC.

Hope it also works for you!
